Jay T. Jorgensen recently retired as the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary of Coupang. Headquartered in Seoul, Coupang is one of the largest and fastest-growing ecommerce companies in the world and was the second largest US IPO of 2021. Prior to joining Coupang, Jay served as the Executive Vice President, Global Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of Walmart, Inc. and was a partner at the global law firm Sidley Austin LLC. At Sidley Jay represented corporations and individuals in all phases of litigation and investigations, including trials and appeals. Earlier in his career, Jay served as a law clerk to the Honorable William H. Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and to the Honorable Samuel A. Alito, Jr. when he sat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Jay holds a JD and BA from BYU.
