The Deason Criminal Justice Reform Center presents our STAR (Small, Tribal, and Rural) Justice Series. This series seeks to highlight an array of distinctive criminal justice issues affecting small, tribal, and rural areas across the United States.

Professor Maybell Romero will lead this panel discussion centralizing the experiences of Black, Native, Latinx, Asian, and other People of Color in STAR communities. Panelists will highlight the myriad issues that impact justice-involved rural and small-town communities of color as the accused, the employed, and/or the families of people in STAR criminal legal systems.
