For November's Deason Discussion, please join the Deason Center faculty and staff for a discussion with CNN Hero, local exoneree, activist, and Executive Director of Miles of Freedom, Mr. Richard Miles, as he discusses his journey from exoneration to reentry and his relentless advocacy for police and prosecutorial oversight. Richard will discuss his community activism and the culmination of those efforts into the recently passed Richard Miles Act in the Texas Legislature.

 

The Deason Discussion Series is a monthly, virtual program directed toward law students, but open to the entire law school and university community. These presentations focus on salient legal issues in criminal justice [reform] and provide a primer for discussion and engagement with the topic(s).
