Observe a Teaching Award Winner - Dr. Kristina Nielsen In-Person

You’re invited to observe Kristina Nielsen, recipient of the Golden Mustang Award, for a session of MUHI 1302 Music in World Societies.

This course introduces students to musical traditions from a wide range of cultures and explores key themes in contemporary musical research. Students examine case studies of music from diverse geographic regions and apply this knowledge to broader discussions of indigeneity, nationalism, diaspora, tradition, and globalization.

This is an Undergraduate Level class with approximately 50 students.

The session will focus on South Africa and Paul Simon, featuring a “puzzle” reading activity designed to encourage collaborative analysis and discussion.

The instructor will introduce you and provide context for the session.

Please note that you will receive an Outlook calendar invite with the class location after registering. Due to the limited number of sessions available, faculty will only be allowed to register for two Teaching Award Winner Observations per term.
