Observe a Teaching Award Winner - Dr. Dan Moss In-Person

You’re invited to observe Daniel Moss, recipient of the Altshuler Distinguished Teacher Award, for a session of ENGL 4330 – Spenser (and Milton).

This course introduces students to the poetry of Edmund Spenser and John Milton, with primary emphasis on Spenser’s The Faerie Queene. Through close study of allegory, biblical and classical intertexts, and poetic form, students explore early modern literary imagination while engaging creatively through papers, a Virtual Museum project, and student-led discussions.

This is an Undergraduate Level class with approximately 30 students.

The session will focus on the Gardens of Adonis, a central allegorical episode in The Faerie Queene, examining its symbolic structure and thematic significance within Spenser’s larger poetic vision.

The instructor will introduce you and provide context for the session.

Please note that you will receive an Outlook calendar invite with the class location after registering. Due to the limited number of sessions available, faculty will only be allowed to register for two Teaching Award Winner Observations per term.
