Conversations About Race, Gender, and Other Issues Across Divides: The 2024 Elections and Beyond In-Person
One of the reasons we remain silent, even when something that deeply touches our identity or core values is at stake in some way, is that we have not done the preparatory work to engage in important conversations across deep social divides. In this brief workshop, we’ll think about the conversations we’re not having, and then prepare for those conversations using an interview technique designed to uncover what matters most to you, as well as points of intersection between you and those you’d like to be heard and better understood by. The workshop will be led by Religious Studies Professor Dr. Jill DeTemple using approaches developed by Essential Partners, a non-profit dedicated to conflict transformation through dialogue.
