In a few of my courses, I have students write mock opinion columns rather than exams. This challenges them to explain the arguments they have been engaging in class in ways that are accessible to a wider public. In this session, I discuss how I craft these assignments to both test the students' knowledge of the material, and also to help guide conversation in the course as we deal with very sensitive and potentially explosive topics.

This session is led by Dr. Dallas Gingles, Assistant Dean of Hybrid Education Associate Professor of Practice in Systematic Theology and Christian Ethics in the Perkins School of Theology
