How to Play and Score

Stakes will be placed a set distance apart (depending on space available). Teams will compete to see who can throw the shoe closest to the stake. Prior to beginning the game, a coin will be tossed to determine which team will go first. Players will pitch both shoes and then wait for the next player to throw. The player who throws a shoe that lands the closest and within 6 inches of the stake gets a point. Leaners are shoes which lean against the stake - worth 1 point. Ringers are shoes that completely encircle the stake - worth 3 points. If two players shoes are of equal distance or point value, they get cancelled out and the next closest shoe gets points. Games will be played to 15 points or until the 20 minute time-limit is met. Winners will return their score card to the Game Table to receive their winning medals.
