Is the English you learned in your country different from the way you hear Americans (and Texans) speak? Many expressions in English are "figurative," requiring understanding beyond word-by-word translation. This workshop introduces the meaning, usage, and pronunciation of American slang, idioms, and other common sayings in academic, business, and everyday life situations.

Would you like to feel more comfortable speaking English in academic, professional, and everyday life situations? These workshops are designed to support international students and scholars, and other non-native speakers, with polishing oral communication skills. Resources for independent practice will also be provided.
