The SMU Staff Association invites you to take part in the SMU Staff Association's Staff Acts of Kindness

Choose from the list below of suggested acts of kindness or come up with your own and let your colleagues know that they are appreciated!

When posting acts of kindness to social media, use #SMUSTAFFLOVE so that we can all enjoy the kindness together!

As a thank you to our amazing staff, gift cards will be given out to some of those who register.

All winners will be chosen at random during SMUSA Staff Appreciation Week at the President's Picnic on 5/18.

Share the love on social media #SMUStaffLove

1.         Surprise a colleague with a gift card, candy, soda, or other small treat.

2.         Share sticky notes with kind words on your colleague’s desk or door.

3.         Write a thank you note or email to someone who has helped you.

4.         Make friends with someone new or new to you at SMU!

5.         Add a positive comment to a conversation.

6.         Tell your boss one thing you appreciate about them.

7.         Compliment a colleague to your boss.

8.         Help a colleague with a difficult or unpleasant task without being asked.

9.         Send an e-Card that has a positive message.

10.       Give recommendations to colleagues on their LinkedIn/business profiles.

11.       Post something positive about SMU staff on social media using #SMUStaffLove

12.       Get together with a few colleagues (virtually).

13.       Compliment the first three people you talk to today.

14.       Send a positive text message to five different people right now.

15.       Say hi to the person next to you on the elevator.

16.       Acknowledge everyone at work, even if you don’t know them.

17.       Try to make sure every person in a group conversation feels included.

18.       Set a reminder on your phone to do something kind.

19.       Give to a cause that is important to a colleague and let them know.

20.       Take flowers or treats to the nurses’ station at SMU’s Bob Smith Health Center.
