You are invited to the SMU-in-Japan Program Scholarship Luncheon, which will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, 12:00 - 1:30 PM, at Carr Collins Hall Dining Room.

Featuring the 2025 recipients of the McFarland Memorial Scholarship and the Tadashi Yamagata Scholarship, the summer program provided students with valuable perspectives on Japan’s history, economy, politics, and society while fostering meaningful cross-cultural friendships. Beyond the classroom, students explored historic temples, vibrant neighborhoods, and scenic landscapes, and participated in local traditions that offered an authentic glimpse into Japanese life. We also honor the donors whose generosity made these transformative experiences possible. The program left students with a broadened worldview, strengthened cultural and economic awareness, and cherished memories of their time in Japan.
